Swedish Festival
One delightful area holiday tradition is the Swedish Festival in Wildwood. Members of the Scandinavian community open up their church for the traditional pageantry of the Santa Lucia Ceremony in early December.. The celebration starts from 2 to 3:30PM with the Scandinavian Market, the Fellowship Hall of the Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, Poplar and Atlantic Aves in Wildwood.
At 4PM, the Lucia Pageant takes place in the Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity. After the procession with wizards, wisemen, trolls and the Lucia - a young woman wearing a garland of candles in her hair - everyone heads back over to the church hall around 5:15PM for more of the Swedish Crafts and food festival. If you go, there's parking behind the Church, at Poplar and Atlantic Aves in Wildwood. See the Cape May Christmas Calendar
