From Cape May to Cairo: The Work of George Washington Nicholson
The first comprehensive retrospective of the works of Salem, NJ landscape painter George Washington Nicholson. His landscapes represent an academic realism style popular during the turn of the century. The exhibition includes New Jersey marsh paintings and seascapeas as well as Orientalist subjects.

Mediums, Well Done: The World of Victorian Spiritualism
This exhibit explores the world of séances, ouija boards, fairies and ectoplasm through photographs and artifacts and shows why the Victorian world was so fascinated by mediums and psychics. Included are a collection of rare spiritual photographs from William B. Becker’s American Museum of Photography, an award-winning virtual museum.
The Carriage House Gallery, Emlen Physick Estate, 1048 Washington St. Hours vary. Admission is $2 for adults, $1 for children or free with tour of the Physick Estate.

Celebrating Fred Noyes
Fred Noyes, artist and founder of the Noyes Musuem, loved to paint the South Jersey environment. More than 200 of Noyes’ paintings are in the msueum's permanent collection. The Noyes is observing its 25th anniversary with this exhibition of some of those works.

Through January 2009 Treasures From The Collection: Museum of American Glass
Pieces selected from the 15,000 works in the collection of the Museum of American Glass, collecterd over the last 40 years. The pieces on exhibit were chosen both for their craftsmanship as well as for their historical importance in glass manufacture.

Spring Exhibition
Robert Mead Jones, Bonnie Beauchamp-Jones, Neal McPheeters and Miro Sinovcic. Croatian born Sinovcic is known for his vibrant citscapes. Cape May's McPheeters is known for his majestic seascapes. Both Beauchamp-Jones and Robert Mead Jones' paintings are influenced by their travels. Meet the artists at the opening reception May 24, 7-10PM.

May 18-21 Landscape Painting Workshops
Stan Sperlak, a nationally recognized landscape painter and local resident, is teaching spring outdoor painting workshops. All levels are welcome. Primarily pastel, but all media can be covered. The April workshop will be in and around Cape May. Students in the May workshop will travel to scenic spots from Sperlak's Crow Creek Farm in Goshen. Rates for the workshop range from $125-325 depending on the amount of days selected. Call (609) 827-6423 to register.
