Faux Van Gogh Exhibit at Cape May Art League

The Cape May County Art League is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year.

This is also Vincent Van Gogh's 150th birthday year.

To pay tribute to both, Art league members have been working hard creating new art works done in the Vincent Van Gogh style.

This Faux Van Gogh exhibit opens at the League's Prickly Pear Gallery Sunday, May 16, with a free reception from 3 to 6PM.

There's a Dutch connection to all of this. Cape May gets it name from Dutch explorer Cornelius Mey. The Art League's tribute to the Dutch artist is the first of what will become an annual homage to a famous painter.

The Prickly Pear Gallery is located at 670 Washington St., Cape May and is open Wednesday through Sunday. Call (609) 884-8628 for more info.
