March 2007 Best Bets
Posted 3/4/07
March kicks off the season with a marine theme.
Aquamarine Madness Benefit
After the Red Shoes benefit and the Parisian hat benefit, comes a voyage under the sea. The Center for Community Arts always has such fun ideas for benefits. On March 9th at Congress Hall, you're invited to wear whatever comes to mind when you think of Aquamarine Madness - A Gala Evening under the Sea. The creative among you will be rewarded with prizes. The rest of you can enjoy good eats and live music from Dr. Cheeko's Band. Did we mention that you also will be raising money for a good cause?? Don't let that stop you from enjoying yourself. $40 in advance, $50 at the door. (609) 884-7525.
Wildwood Boat Show
Local boats might still be shrink wrapped tight. But March blows in the urge to tear off those wrappings and rev up those motors. From March 30th to Aril 1, you can wander through the Wildwoods Convention Center and gaze longingly at all the boats you'd like to buy. Save those pennies. Some day. In the meantime, why not go window shopping. Everyone else does..
BOFFO B&W Film Series
And those best of the best black and white films are continuing this month at Congress Hall, courtesy of the NJ State Film Festival. Settle into the comfy seats in the Harrison Room and watch stars like Lynn Redgrave and Robert Mitchum. $5 per film or, if your New Year's diet is over, pay $20 and do a film plus lunch at Congress Hall's Blue Pig.
