Ahh.. Spring. We've been waiting for you. It's the perfect weekend to make that big transition from cold weather to warm weather clothes. Then head out for a house tour, or a boat tour or a trip back in time. Just get out of the house.
Spring in the Air
Cape May celebrates spring with its annual Spring Festival Weekend (formerly the Tulip Festival - but those tulips are so unpredictable.) Go on a tour of private homes never open to the public, Sunday afternoon
1-3PM. $15 for adults, $7.50 for children. Stop by Cape May Convention Hall Saturday and Sunday for the Spring Home and Garden Show $2. Get into the spirit of things Saturday night and take the new Spirit of the Light Ghost Tour of West Cape May, starting at 8PM.
$20 for adults; $10 for children. Tickets for all events at the Washington Street Mall info booth.
Back to the Sixties
Wildwood celebrates Spring with some big names only baby boomers could love: Tommy James and the Shondells, The Turtles with Flo and Eddie, the Lovin' Spoonful and The Soul Survivors. This Saturday night blast from the past concert starts at 7PM at Wildwood Convention Center on the Boardwalk. $40. Call the Greater Wildwoods Chamber of Commerce (888) 729-0033 for tickets. Or head over to the free concert Sunday afternoon at noon in North Wildwood (2nd and Olde New Jersey Aves.) 1910 Fruit Gum Company and The Archie's Ron Dante.
Back Bay Birding
For a more mellow weekend, jump on The Skimmer Sunday from 10AM to 1PM and watch returning herons, egrets and migrating shorebirds zip through the backbays. Cost $35. (609) 884-3100
