- Memorial Day Weekend

Posted 5/22/07
Can't believe it's Memorial Day Weekend already. In addition to the annual crafts show and tours and sun bathing, check out these:
Wildwoods International Kite Festival
Friday night, head over to Wildwood for an illuminated night kite fly on the beach at rio Grande Ave. Or wander by anytime over the weekend to see high flying kites. It's all part of the international Kite Festival on the beach by the Wildwood convention Center. Make sure to check inside the Convention Center for kite competitions. Free to spectators.
Memorial Day Ceremony
Spend an hour on Monday honoring those who gave their lives for us, so we can enjoy Memorial Day at the shore. Annual Memorial Service includes the Coast Guard band and local dignitaries. A Coast Guard helipcopter will fly over the scene and drop a memorial wreath into the ocean. Starts at 11AM in front of Cape May Convention Hall, Beach Ave. and Stockton.
 Cape May Stage Opener
Say you saw it first. Cape May Stage opens its 2007 season this weekend with Bad Dates. Anyone who's gone on one will understand. Clean up after your day at the beach and head over to Cape May Stage's newly spiffed up home at Bank and Lafayette Sts and enjoy the show. 8PM, Wednesday through Sunday. Tickets are $28 at the door or call (609) 884-1341. Tell them you saw it on Cape May Times!!
