Spring Block Party in Ocean City
OCEAN CITY, N.J. ---Over 375 crafters and food vendors will be featured in Ocean City’s 24th annual mile-long spring block party, Sat., May 1. The event extends from 5th to 14 th Sts. On Asbury Ave.The craft show is juried. Products are checked ahead of time to insure that they are hand-crafted, quality items.
The block party also includes an array of foods including a Greek Food center that has been part of the event for over 20 years. Other vendors will offer seafood, ribs, pork, funnel cakes, pizza, water ice, hotdogs and more.
New cars will be displayed on 9 th St. between Asbury and Central Avenues. There will be free pony rides and face painters for children at the Tabernacle from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will also be a variety of musical entertainment along the route during these same hours.
All City parking lots will be free the day of the block party. ( City parking meters will not go into effect until May 3.) There will be free parking and shuttle service, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., from the airport, 26 th and Bay Ave. and soccer field off Tennesse Ave. Free parking will also be available at the Transportation Center, 10 th and Haven Ave., in back of McDonald’s.
Boardwalk merchants will hold table sales Friday through Sunday the weekend of the Block Party. For the first time, downtown merchants will also hold a sidewalk sale on Sunday, May 2 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Asbury Ave.
The Chester County Youth Orchestra will perform at 7:30 p.m. at the Music Pier on Sat., May 1 following the block party and boardwalk table sales.
