Cape May Shopper: Christmas Decorations

Prowling through local Cape May stores the last couple of weeks, we've found tons of great ideas for your holiday decorating.

Fruit is big - - whether it's the apples on the wreaths at Cape Island Gardens or faux red or green apple garlands (top of the page) and topiaries at Wildberries.

Wildberries also has interesting, pale green "artichoke" wreaths - to carry the food theme on a bit more.

Victorian Cones		Artist Ornaments

Look for interesting, handmade ornaments this year for your Christmas tree. A Little of This and That has wonderful Victorian cones - handmade in Cape May. Half a dozen Christmas trees in the store are covered with other unique ornaments.

Cape Island Gardens also has handmade ornaments - classic Christmas balls dressed up by a local artist in a retro sixties style, with beads and macrame.

Hula Ornament		Jingle Birds

Birds are another old fashioned choice for Christmas. The Bird House of Cape May's Jingle Birds™ collection includes Christmas cardinals and chickadees perching in their own wreaths - hang inside or outside.

Wanderlust keeps the island theme with colorful hula girl and surfer boy ornaments.

Santa Palm Plates		Snowman Plates

In that same island theme at Wanderlust are plates with Santa under the Palm Trees. They come nicely boxed in sets of four. Or go with red cheeked snowmen plates at Wildberries. Those are a la carte - buy one or buy a dozen.
