July 4 Independence Day Parade
1PM. This year’s parade is dedicated to U.S.Coast Guard Training Center. Grand Marshall is Captain Cari Thomas, Commanding Officer of the U.S.C.G. Training Center. The Coast Guard Band and Color Guard will march as well as Cape May County String Band, Congress Street Brass Band, floats, decorated bicycles and antique autos. The parade starts at Beach and Philadelphia Ave's. and ends at Beach and Patterson Ave's. Review stand at Convention Hall. Call Cape May Civic Affairs to participate. (609) 884-9565.

Independence Day Celebration

July 4 - December Cape May's Designer Show House Opening
10AM-3PM and 7-9PM. Saturdays 10AM-3PM. Area designers and suppliers transform a mid-19th century Carpenter Gothic home into Cape May's fifth annual Designer Show House. Tickets at the door. The Carpenter Cottage, 511 Franklin St. Sponsored by the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts (MAC) and House & Home magazine. $20 adults, $15 children at the door.

July 10-12 45th Annual Promenade Art Show
80 fine artists representing all mediums including oil painting, sculpture, watercolors, photography and graphics, show their work on the boardwalk and promenade. Forty ribbons and $2,000. in cash prizes are awarded to 1st, 2nd, 3rd place and Honorable Mention in the following categories: oil/acrylic, watercolor, photography, graphics/drawing and sculpture/mixed media.

11AM. This parade commemorates the 400th Anniversary of Henry Hudson’s trip around Cape Island aboard his ship The Half Moon. Parade route: Beach Avenue from Pittsburgh Avenue to Patterson Avenue, with the review stand at Convention Hall. Marching in the parade; the United States Coast Guard Band and Color Guard, The Fralinger String Band, The South Philadelphia String Band, The Quaker City String Band, The North Wildwood Pipe and Drum Band, the Bonsal Blues String Band, Lower Cape May Regional Marching Band and the Hobo Band.
