Cape May Whales and Dolphins MigratingCape May, NJ 10/04/04 - It's not only birds and butterflies that migrate through Cape May in the fall. October's a time when whales can be seen moving through area waters in bigger numbers. As the accompanying photos show, these behemoths do the same thing as the tourists - they stop to have great seafood while in the area. Captain Ron from the Cape May Whale Watch and Research Center shared these photos with Cape May Times. All were taken during the last week from Captain Ron's whale watching boat. On the right, a humpback whale sinks back to the deep after inhaling lunch. Below, a school of dolphins frolic in the waves.
