2004 West Cape May Lima Bean Festival

WEST CAPE MAY, N.J. – Saturday's annual Lima Bean Festival drew throngs of festival goers to Wilbraham Park in West Cape May for Lima Bean chili, Lima Bean soup, Lima bean Salad, Lima Bean Earrings, Lima Bean Tee shirts, Lima Bean candles, Lima Bean birdhouses, Lima Bean cookbooks...in addition to the real live article - baskets of fresh lima beans.

Dozens of vendors sold non lima items as well - everything from dragonfly tee shirts and decorative gourds to Nicaraguan art and crab cakes.

It was fitting this year that the new Lima Bean Queen was none other than former lima grower Les Rea's three year old granddaughter. She fell fast asleep still clutching her bouquet.
