The Lima Bean Festival tries again

CAPE MAY, NJ - A longstanding West Cape May tradition, the Lima Bean Festival, was rained out not once but twice this past weekend.

But lima lovers are a diehard bunch and they're going to try one more time - this Saturday, October 15 - to beat the weather.

Head over to Wilbraham Park, at the corner of Perry St. and Broadway in West Cape May, Saturday for a day filled with all things lima - including lima bean soup, lima bean hats and even the crowning of a Lima Bean King and Queen.

There'll be entertainment, crafts and other food vendors as well, at this slice of Americana.

The festival dates back to the days when local farmers grew tons of limas at area farms. Most of the lima bean farms are gone from West Cape May, but the festival is still going strong.
