RV's Trek the Lighthouse Trail
The RV caravan started off in Sandy Hook last week, on a six day mission to highlight the New Jersey Coastal Heritage Trail's historic lighthouses. The group spent each night at a different state park or private campground along the way.
Their traveling cheerleader? None other than New Jersey's Secretary of State Regena Thomas. Thomas rallied the troops at the final stop, at the foot of the Cape May Lighthouse, promoting New Jersey's historic and coastal tourism.
The New Jersey Coastal Heritage Trail was first championed by Sen. Bill Bradley 15 years ago as a way to bring tourist dollars to scenic and historic coastal areas. New Jersey Lighthouse Challenge The week long RV tour was also a lead-in to New Jersey’s 6th Annual New Jersey Lighthouse Challenge. Thousands of participants visited the state’s 11 accessible lighthouses this past weekend.
