Halloween Happenings
Posted 10/16/06 The Halloween festivities begin with Cape May's annual Halloween parade Sunday, October 22. The Parade starts at 3 PM. Registration is at 1PM on Lyle Lane, just behind the Mall. Watch as ghost and goblins from two to 92 strut their stuff. If you love parades, you can hit Wildwood's Halloween parade October 27. Starts at 6PM at the Wildwoods Convention Center. And Ocean City's First Fright celebration starts on Thursday, October 26, with the City’s 59th Annual Halloween Parade. It starts at 7:15PM and goes from 6th to 11 Streets on Asbury Ave. Over 300 costumed youngsters plus bands and cheerleading groups will be marching. Haunted Tours There are tons of ghostly tours this month, courtesy of MAC. Ride a trolley with a real ghost whisperer and hear the town's psychic secrets. Or take a spooky tour of the Physick Estate. Spirit Voices South Jersey Paranormal Research will be giving a lecture how they gather their ghost hunting evidence on investigations. They'll share some exciting data like spirit voices and ghostly pictures with the audience at Avalon Free Library on Thursday October 26 at 7:30 PM Natural Halloween Why do spiders spin webs? Because they don't know how to knit! Bring the little ones dressed in their favorite costume and join the Nature Center on October 29th for their supernatural Halloween gathering from noon to 2:20PM. Trick or Treating On October 31, go trick or treating at the Physick Estate, then head to Wildwood and walk through a "haunted house" and receive treats at 1st and New Jersey Avenue, North Wildwood, courtesy of the Elks. To see an amazing assortment of original scarecrows, stop by Cape Island Gardens on Broadway in West Cape May during business hours from now 'till Halloween.
