Cape May's Windy Delaware Bay
Posted 1/03/10
Cape May, NJ —Talk about the year coming in like a lion - 30 to 40 mile per hour winds at the Delaware Bay turned the normally calm waters into a roiling mass of waves.
From North Cape May all the way to what's left of the concrete ship at Sunset Beach, the bay looked angry.

It was almost impossible to open the car door at Sunset Beach today - the westerly winds were that fierce.
The Alexander Ave. fishing jetty was submerged and the waves threatened to wash right up to the little outdoor luncheonette counter, abandoned for the season.

The strong winds created some awesome images - like a Neal McPheeters or Stan Sperlak painting come to life.

And chilly? Yes it was mighty cold out there today.
