Cape May Point in the Snow

Posted 2/03/10
Cape May Point, NJ — Yes, one more snowfall! The big flakes of overnight snow turned Cape May Point's many tree branches and rooftops into instant art.
St. Mary's by the Sea positively shimmered. The Point's beaches were untouched by human feet.

About two more inches of snow coated all of the Cape May area. That's in addition to the ten inches we got over the weekend. This has to be a record of some kind - 12 inches of snow within four days!

Familiar landmarks like the lighthouse and the hawkwatch platform at Cape May Point State Park had a new look, at least early Wednesday morning.

The tree branches were losing their snowy luster as the sun came out later in the day. But, for early risers, Cape May Point was a sight to behold this AM.
