Cape May 's Frozen Waves on the Bay

Posted 1/24/11
Cape May, NJ — On this bitter cold day along the east coast, how cold is it in Cape May? Cold enough for the Delaware Bay to start freezing over.
Yesterday, wind swept waves were churning against the shore. Sometime during the night, the waves became frozen in place.

There's no snow on land yet ice flows are temporarily clogging the Delaware Bay shoreline...looks sort of like Alaska.
Unlike Alaska, we probably only will have a day to see this phenomenon. Temperatures are expected to head back above freezing tomorrow.

But then, you just never know what this winter has in mind.
