Topic: Avalon Seawatch-Nummy Island, etc.

A good day at the seawatch yesterday despite the winds.  Fist of the year Long-tailed Duck (2), large lines of scoter (all 3 species),  both Scaup, Pintail, Black Duck, Wood Duck, Red-abcde Merganser, Bonapartes Gull, lots of Ring-necked Gulls, 1 juv. Lesser Black-backed Gull, Royal Tern, Gannet and Snow Geese.  Also seen, Merlin, Peregrine Falcon, Harrier, and Osprey.
At the CMBO/NJ Audubon's Stone Harbor Point walk, we mostly birded from the parkig lot, sparrows all over - White-throated Sparrow, Lincoln's Sparrow, Swamp Sparrow, Song Sparrow, Savannah Sparrow and Junco.  At Nummy there were Marbled Godwits (seen from the free bridge - low tide), Oystercatcher, 1 Semipalmated Plover, Black-bellied Plover, both Yellowlegs, and a few Red Knot.
I expect today will be another good day at seawatch.
