December Art Exhibits

Cape May, NJ – Lots of art in December.

Local galleries are presenting holiday shows directed at both art lovers and Christmas shoppers.

The Gail Pierson Gallery at 658 Washington Street is  featuring the work of three artists this month.

Dressler Smith, from Philadelphia,  is exhibiting both pastels and oils, including some bright, summery sunflowers called In the Midst.

The gallery’s also showing oil paintings by Joe Rademan, of Sewell , New Jersey.  Toni Lee Vosika exhibits photographs of Cape May.

Pierson also has a food related art exhibit at Treehouse Antiques, on Route 9.

The SOMA NewArt Gallery at 31 Perry Street, is featuring original artwork and prints from  all of its regulars.

Included are some works by Richard Samuelson. Samuelson just wrapped up an exhibit of a digital and mixed media paintings like Looking Into the Deep. (above.)

Also on exhibit at SOMA are:  Sandra Bloodworth, Carol King Hood, Stan Sperlak, Victor Grasso, Sean Taylor, Harriett Sosson, Greg Bennett, Sam Donovan, Robin and Bruce Hippel and Marie Natale.

The Cape May Artists Cooperative at the West End Garage on Perry Street,  the Cape May Bird Observatory’s Sluice Creek Gallery in Goshen, New Jersey and the Nature Center’s Harbor Gallery are all offering holiday artworks and fine crafts from local artists, as well.

Sluice Creek Gallery’s theme this month is the natural world, complete with local Christmas tree. Harbor Gallery’s exhibit focuses on Ocean Treasures.
