West Cape May Liquor Store

West Cape May, NJ -  The first liquor store in West Cape May could be open for business this spring.  Mayor Pam Kaithern anticipates the state approval process could be completed as early as the end of January.

The liquor store will take over the former Vanthia’s Restaurant on Sunset near Broadway.  Sunset Liquor LLC  bid $615,00 for the liquor license.  The bid was approved last week by the borough.  Sunset Liquor is headed up by Tom and Nancy O’Hara, owners of Uncle Bill’s Pancake House.

Kaithern says the new store has the potential to bring more foot traffic and business into the western end of Cape May.  She says that increase would come not just from tourists but from local residents as well.

Several year round stores, including Seaside Cheese and Westside Market, already operate in the West Cape May area.
