Cape May’s Fickle November Weather

Cape May, NJ – Winter coat or tee shirt?  Bare legs or woolen socks?  After dipping into the thirties last week, the temperature rocketed up to 68 degrees Monday,  November 18th.  Along the Cape May promenade, folks were of two minds regarding what to wear.

Tee shirt? (With requisite cell phone and shorts.)

Or winter jackets?

Yesterday’s high of 68 was 12 degrees higher than the average. No wonder tee shirts and shorts were everywhere.

Twenty four hours later,  the temperature had dropped 20 degrees. The average high for this time of year is in the mid 50′s.

How often can you say one 24 hour period is both unseasonably warm and unseasonably cold?

The good news – by the weekend – the temperature seesaw is expected to stabilize.
Until then, keep your down vest handy.
