While other parts of the country were dealing with severe ice storms, it was a chilly but relatively balmy December evening  in Cape May. Not a drop of precipitation anywhere.

Queen Maysea wisely bundled up in white fleece under her scarlet robe.

Some parade watchers brought their own blankets.

Some opted for feathers.¬† The Mummers – and it seems there were more this year than ever before – strutted in their fancy costumes, warming up for their big New Year’s Day parade.

Some parade goers brought warm vittles to feed their hungry friends.

A bevy of candy throwers kept the sweets circulating all night.

One food mega merchant (we’re not naming any names) almost upstaged Santa with a famous clown at the helm.

Mostly, the West Cape May Christmas Parade was what it always is – a small town, living, breathing Christmas card.
