Cape May Summer Concert Series 2014

Cape May, NJ – Music lovers can choose from an interesting variety of Cape May concerts on Monday nights this summer. The summer concerts start June 30th with The Hit Men, former members of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.

Performing July 7 at Cape May Convention Hall is well known Grammy award winner Melissa Manchester. The singer songwriter has received the Governor’s Award from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences for her contributions to the music and recording arts. Among her many hits – Looking through the Eyes of Love and Don’t Cry Out Loud.

Performer Deana Martin might not be as well known, but her famous father certainly is – she’s the daughter of the late Dean Martin. She’ll perform July 14.

Broadway show lovers get a little New York at the shore July 21 with Broadway at the Beach, presented by by Rublelee Productions.

You can take a nostalgic trip back to the sixties on July 28, with The Grass Roots. The group members have changed over the years but their music is still some of the most recognized on Classic Rock stations. (Sooner or LaterMidnight Confessions )

Poperazzi steps up on August 4th, with a Symphony Pops show. The trio is composed of tenors George DeMott and Cody Shawn Gay and soprano Janien Valentine.

Rita Coolidge

Look for another trip down memory lane with Grammy winner Rita Coolidge August 11th.

Coolidge got her career going by touring with Joe Cocker in the late sixties. Some of her big hits: We’re All Alone,  Higher And Higher, and The Way You Do The Things You Do. She was honored with a Lifetime of Musical Achievement award at the 2002 First Americans in the Arts Awards.

Finally, the newest members of the Kingston Trio wrap up the summer series August 18th.
