A Friday Morning in June in Cape May

Cape May, NJ -   There’s a cool breeze, a bright sun and a blue ocean. Hard to believe, just a few months ago, the same spot was being pummeled by snow and wind.

You’d never know it Friday.  Cape May is shaking off the crazy weather earlier in the year as though it never happened.  All that matters now is the beach, the water and the sun. It’s June and the long awaited summer season is starting.

Three little siblings, too young for school,  had the beach to themselves Friday morning.

A local homeowner broke out her bike for an early June ride on a quiet Beach Ave before the traffic starts whizzing by.

It was a good morning for a neighborly chat on a quiet Promenade.

The hot dog man was doing his thing, getting his cart in shape, ready for the onslaught of summer beach goers.

In a couple of weeks, Cape May will morph into a different place.

Early June, when the kids are still in school but the weather is warming up, has to be the Cape May season’s sweet spot. june8
