Stone Harbor Farmers Market 2014

Stone Harbor, NJ – Every Sunday morning in the summer, just 13 miles from Cape May, you’ll find a small but amazingly well stocked farmer’s market tucked a block away from Stone Harbor’s main drag.

Shortly after the market’s opening at 8:30AM, shoppers descend on the fresh produce, looking for dinner ingredients.

Three area farmers – Woodland Produce in Fairton, Nummy Town Farm and Nursery in Middle Township  and Clinton Conover Farms in Swainton – truck the latest produce from their fields to Stone Harbor each Sunday morning.

On opening day, the last of the season’s Jersey asparagus shared a table with the first locally grown tomatoes, fresh from the farm’s hot house. Field grown Jersey tomatoes will come later.

Another local farmers’market,  the West Cape May Farmer’s Market, includes live entertainment and take out food along with the produce every Tuesday afternoon. Stone Harbor’s Sunday morning market is more about the fruits and veggies.  You’ll also find fresh pastas and seafood and some other local foods to round out the night’s dinner menu.

If you’re weak, you can indulge in some hot donuts and coffee while you shop.

The Stone Harbor Farmers Market is located at the Waterworks on the corner of  95th Street and 2nd Avenue in Stone Harbor. It’s open every Sunday from 8:30AM to 12:30 PM in the summer only.
