Independence Day Parade 2014 Photos

Cape May, NJ – Just like many small towns across the United States, Cape May celebrated independence Day with an old fashioned, patriotic parade along a main street.

No fireworks

The scheduled fireworks along the beach fizzled out twice because of  weather conditions. The fireworks first were postponed from Friday night until Sunday night because of rough seas after Hurricane Arthur.  The fireworks are set off from a barge in the ocean.

On Sunday night, the fireworks were cancelled again, this time, according to Sea Tow, because rough waves swamped the barge the fireworks were on.

The Independence Day parade went off just as planned Saturday afternoon along Beach Avenue, complete with Mummers and Coasties and many others.
