Singer Songwriter Cape May 2015

CAPE MAY, NJ – Cape May’s Singer Songwriter Weekend might be the rare time when the performers pay, not the audience. (Except for two special concerts. )

For two days and two nights (March 27 and 28) 150 musical artists descend on Cape May for a weekend of networking, mentoring and marketing. That’s during the day.

Then the fun stuff.  Every evening, the singer songwriters perform, for free, at 18 different venues on Cape Island. Check with your favorite pub to see who will be playing there.

Music industry professionals attend the annual Singer-Songwriter event not only as  performers and speakers but also as talent scouts. You never know who’ll be sitting next to you.

There are two special headliner concerts in the Congress Hall Ballroom: Patty Larkin  (shown above) performs Friday night at 8PM.  Larkin’s new release Still Green was written right by the seashore – in a dune shack on the Outer Banks.

Dan Navarro (to the left) performs at Congress Hall Saturday night at 8PM. His next album, Shed My Skin, is being released soon. Navarro started as a songwriter for artists including Pat Benatar, The Bangles, Jackson Browne  and The Temptations.

There is a $10 fee for each of those two headliner concerts. All the other performances are free and open to the public.
