Cape May Parking
First
the good news: there is no alternate side of the street parking.
Now the reality: there ARE parking meters.
Parking
in Cape May is an art form in the summer months. There are free
spots along side streets away from the beach. Closer to the
beachfront, parking meters are in effect from 10AM to 10PM. The
cost: 25 cents for each 20 miinute period.
Bring lots
of quarters. Or park the car on an unmetered side street. Once
you park the car..LEAVE IT THERE!
Cape
May was made for walking. It's a very compact place. Walking
is really the best way to see this historic town. You can also rent
a bike (or bring your own.) And there are
shuttle buses running during the busy season that stop at
some of the more popular destinations.
Many Cape
May bed and breakfast inns and Cape
May hotels and motels offer either on site parking or free parking
at a parking lot.
