North Wildwood 2004 Summer Concert SeriesWILDWOOD, N.J. –The biggest free summer entertainment bargain in South Jersey, offering acts often appearing in Las Vegas, Atlantic City and New York, opens in North Wildwood on Saturday night, July 3, with the 45 member Mainstage Harmony. The opening night performance marks the return of the high energy choir of college and high school age students and their fast paced show of Broadway and Gershwin songs. The Carmen Dee band, once a fixture at Palumbo’s Restaurant in Philadelphia, performs Thursday, July 8th. The band has accompanied such big stars as Jimmy Durante, Vic Damone, Tony Bennett and Al Martino. A total of 21 shows runs every Thursday and Saturday night at 8 o’clock at North Wildwood's Lou Booth amphitheater at Ocean and Second Avenues. Among this summer's headliner entertainment seen frequently on the nightclub circuits will be The Emeralds, the Dovells, Danny and the Juniors, the Rip Chords and the Marvelettes. Also, for the first time, North Wildwood will host a talent show in September featuring some of the top professional talent from Cape May County who appear here and elsewhere throughout the year. All events are at the amphitheater at Ocean and Second Avenues and begin at 8PM except the Miss North Wildwood ceremony which starts at 7PM. All performances are free to the public.
