Thunder on the Beach Monster Truck Race weekend kicks off Friday September 27 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Scoop Taylor Park, Ocean Avenue and Crocus Road with the Surf and Turf Monster Mash Festival. Meet the monster truck drivers, fill up on tantalizing foods of every variety and enjoy family entertainment including clowns, face painters, magic and stilt walkers and ride a monster truck on the beach at Heather Road.

The lineup for the Monster Truck Races includes Grave Digger, Team Meents, Predator, Black Stallion 2000, Bulldozer, Backdraft , and Sudden Impact.
Three monster truck shows, complete with a thunder quad race and an appearance by the car-eating robot Megasaurus, will be held at Spencer Avenue and the beach in Wildwood. Show times are Saturday at noon and 7 p.m., and Sunday at noon.

Advance tickets are $8 and $13. Tickets on event day are $10 for children and $15 for adults. Tickets are available at the “Monster Truck Building” at Young Avenue and the Boardwalk or by calling 609.523.8051 or visit www.njhra.com.

Sunset Hydrofest will be held on September 28 –29 on Sunset Lake at Rambler Road in Wildwood Crest from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. The event will showcase inboard and outboard racing.

Classes include: Grand Prix, Grand National Hydroplane, National Modified Hydro, Pro Stock and Jersey Speed Skiffs. A food court, motor sports displays and racing collectibles will all be lakeside for the event. Free to spectators.

If fans want to see the race boats up close, pit passes can be purchased for $10 at the credentials tent located at the pit gate located at New Jersey and Nashville Avenues. For further information call 609.889.9181.

Thunder in the Sand Motocross Races begin at noon on Saturday and Sunday October 12 and 13 at Lincoln Avenue and the Beach. Seven-year-olds will be the youngest competitors in these American Motocross Association sanctioned races. Classes include expert, amateur, novice and pro. Competitions begin at noon on Saturday and at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, with practices scheduled for Friday afternoon from 1p.m. – 4 p.m. and Saturday morning from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.

The $10,000 purse races will feature motocross bikes and quads, with classes for experts, amateurs, novices and pros. The spectator gate fee is $6 per day or $20 for three-day passes.
