The South Cape May beach is simply loaded with birds right now. Lots of Black Skimmers, Common Terns, Royal Terns, the 4 expected gulls, Sanderlings, and Semipalmated Plovers, with a few Piping Plovers still being seen. Single Bonaparte's Gull, Black Tern, and Roseate Tern have also been seen here at least once each over the last few days. Literally thousands of birds, most quite used to people, so you can really get close. Start at Cape May Point and head east, at "The Cove" by the Second Ave. jetty in Cape May and head west, or reach the center of this area by trail through The Nature Conservancy's Cape May Migratory Bird Refuge, parking area along Sunset Blvd.
