We had a fabulous morning in Belleplain State Forest this morning and ended up with 21 Warbler Species! Also had Scarlet Tanagers, Yellow Billed Cuckoos, Indigo Buntings, Rose Breasted Grosbeak and lots of other stuff!
Highlights were the Warblers (of course)
Northern Parula Warblers
Yellow-Throated Warblers
Black-Throated Green Warblers
Prothonotary Warblers
Black and White Warblers
Blackpoll Warblers
Black Throated Blue Warblers
Magnolia Warblers
Yellow Rumped Warblers (looking real spiffy in their breeding plumages)
Blackburnian Warblers
American Redstarts
Pine Warblers
Prairie Warblers
Blue Winged Warblers
Yellow Warbler (just one)
Worm Eating Warblers
Hooded Warblers
Common Yellowthroats
Northern Waterthrush (just one)
Louisiana Waterthrushes
Ovenbirds
There have also been reports of Chestnut Sided Warbler, Nashville Warbler and Yellow Breasted Chats in the area (but we missed them...darn-it)
Good Birding!
